Overview, TL;DR
I needed to replace a cap nut on the rear axle of my electric commuter scooter, so I contacted the manufacturer’s support to identify and order the correct part. But I can’t seem to get the correct part from the manufacturer.
Introduction
On Oct 9, 2022, I noticed that one of the cap nuts on the rear axle of my EMOVE Touring scooter had fallen off. The roads and sidewalks where I live are not in the best repair, so tightening bolts that have gradually rattled loose is a constant struggle. This one probably shook loose enough to fall off before I could catch it.
Because this saga is long, I’ve broken it down into several parts, including two appendices.
